Assessment of the Microbial Communities in Soil Contaminated with Petroleum Using Next-Generation Sequencing Tools

چکیده

Microbial communities are known to play a principal role in petroleum degradation. This study tries determine the composition of bacteria selected crude oil-contaminated soil from Tabasco and Tamaulipas states, Mexico. We determined microbial populations living under these conditions. evaluated structure diversity bacterial contaminated samples. The most abundant phylum is proteobacteria. Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) analysis sampled soils both states revealed that this has relative abundance among identified phyla. heatmap represented percentage each genus within sample clustered four samples into two groups. Moreover, allowed us identify many genera alkaline Tamaulipas, such as Skermanella sp., Azospirillum sp. Unclassified species Rhodospirillaceae family higher abundance. Meanwhile, acidic Tabasco, we Thalassospira, members Sphingomonadaceae Alphaproteobacteria class with Alpha showed low (Shannon Simpson index); Chao observed Regions. These results suggest may possess ability degrade petroleum, further studies future should elucidate their

assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...

Profiling soil microbial communities with next-generation sequencing: the influence of DNA kit selection and technician technical expertise

Structure and diversity of microbial communities are an important research topic in biology, since microbes play essential roles in the ecology of various environments. Different DNA isolation protocols can lead to data bias and can affect results of next-generation sequencing. To evaluate the impact of protocols for DNA isolation from soil samples and also the influence of individual handling ...

Next‐generation studies of microbial biofilm communities

As we look into the future of microbial biofilm research, there is clearly an emerging focus on communities rather than populations. This represents an essential change in direction to more accurately understand how and why microorganisms assemble into communities, as well as the functional implications for such a life style. For example, current research studies shows that communities display ...

Microbial forensics: next-generation sequencing as catalyst

W hen Antonie van Leeuwenhoek experimented with his microscopes in the late 17 century, he observed, among many other small things, bacteria from the mouth cavity. van Leeuwenhoek’s detailed descriptions of bacteria, spermatozoa, and cells marked the beginning of microbiology; his successors Robert Koch and Louis Pasteur stoked further interest in the microbial world with their discoveries of t...

Strategies and Clinical Applications of Next Generation Sequencing

Abstract DNA sequencing is one of the great valuable techniques in molecular biology, which can be used to detect the sequence of nucleotides in a DNA fragment. The high-throughput sequencing known as Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) revolutionized genomic research and molecular biology; therefore, the whole human genome can be sequenced with a low cost in several days. NGS technology is simi...
